Detailed Romance of Hills in South India Itinerary
On your arrival at Coimbatore airport meet our tour representative and get transferred to Ooty. Check-in at a pre-booked hotel and settle down. Rest of the day is at leisure; spend some quality time in the hotel room. Popular as the 'Queen of hill stations', Udhagamandalam (Ooty) is considered as the paradise for nature lovers. It is one of the favorite hill stations that remain etched in the memories of travelers for years. Here, one can have a vivid view of tea and coffee farms, trees of conifers and pine. Some of the important attractions that you may visit in Ooty are Avalanche valley, Kalhatti falls, Government museum and Raj Bhawan. Enjoy comfortable night stay at hotel.
Today get ready to visit some of the important places of interest in Ooty. Begin your trip with Doddetta peak which is around 8km away from the main town. Settled at an altitude up to 2623m, Dodetta is the highest peak of Nilgiri Mountain range. From top of the peak you can adore the beautiful town Coimbatore and other adjoining areas. Today, check-out from the hotel and leave for Kodaikanal. Referred as the 'Princess of hill stations', Kodaikanal is one of the most travelled honeymoon destinations in Tamil Nadu. From notable viewpoints to pristine lakes, Kodaikanal houses numerous attractions. The lush greenery and the salubrious weather makes every traveler enjoy like never before. Some of the major attractions of Kodaikanal you may visit are famous Pine forests (a perfect place for photo fanatics) and Green valley view point (the fantastic view of the valleys from the top might leave you awestruck). Upon reaching Kodaikanal, check-in at a booked hotel and loosen up. Rest of the day is free for you, either relax or stroll around at nearby markets of the place. On fifth day of your Romance of Hills in South India tour, explore important tourist spots in Kodaikanal. Begin with Pillar Rock, one of the revered tourist spots in Kodaikanal. Pillar rock is a set three huge rock pillars, making it an amazing viewpoint; Coaker's walk- a great walkway with striking views of the valley; and Bear Shola waterfalls- enjoy water cascading down from a certain height relaxing all your senses. The best time to be at this place is during monsoons when the greenery of the place sprouts entirely. Thereafter in the afternoon, visit Bryant Park, a wonderland for plant lovers. Acquiring an area up to 20.5 acres, the park boasts of 325 species of trees, cactuses and shrubs. The star attraction of the park is a 157 year Eucalyptus tree.
